Summer is here and the African American Family & Cultural Center in collaboration with CalKidz is hosting the “Summer Feeding Program” for children of all ages up to 18 years old.

This program offers FREE breakfast and lunch for kids with a new daily activity in between. We are also offering low cost breakfast and lunch for parents. The “Summer Feeding Program” will run Monday through Friday beginning June 17th and goes to August 9th with breakfast at 9:30 am and lunch at Noon. This program is located at the African American Family & Cultural Center at 3300 Spencer Avenue in South Oroville.

Workshop includes discussion of: State & Federal labor laws & regulations regarding employees & the necessary record keeping needed to comply with these requirements; summary of independent contractors vs. employees requirements; focus on what employers are required to provide new employees; what should be kept in employees’ files and specifics regarding legal tax forms, overtime, and work-weeks. Examples of processing payroll functions will be demonstrated with the use of QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) and QuickBooks Online (QBO), including discussion of e-filing both payroll taxes and forms right out of QuickBooks. This 3-part QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) series begins with how QuickBooks works, get-ting around, learning common accounting terms used by QuickBooks, creating new company file, setting preferences, entering new customers, vendors, accounts, and items, backing up data, basic accounting, reviewing the basic Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow reports. You will learn about working with bank accounts (and how to handle PayPal and Square), reconciling accounts, using other account types (credit cards, loans and fixed assets), entering sales information, receiving payments and making deposits, generating customer statements, entering and paying bills, down-loading bank and credit card activities, issuing 1099s, and memorizing transactions.
