The classic story you know and love comes to Lakeshore for the first time in over 60 years! The arrival of several spirits on Christmas Eve offers the old miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, a chance at redemption. Will he be able to learn to keep Christmas in his heart? Gather your family and friends to celebrate the season as this holiday favorite comes to life in our own unique adaptation.
Join the White Bear Area Food Shelf as a sponsor for Give A Gobble 2024, an annual event that provides local families with Thanksgiving meals. We’d love for you to be part of this meaningful tradition, helping to make a significant impact on the lives of those who need it most.
This year, we’ve seen remarkable growth and increased demand in our community. Visitor numbers are up 52%, and our new Community Market now serves over 160 neighbors each day, offering not just food but also critical services like rental assistance and mental health support. With rising costs due to inflation, we’re preparing to serve 800 families this Thanksgiving through Give A Gobble.
To help meet this need, a generous donor has pledged a 1-to-1 matching gift that will double any first-time or increased donations up to $30,000! This means your support will go even further in making a difference this holiday season.
Would you consider becoming a new sponsor for Give A Gobble 2024? Whether it’s $500, $1,000, or $5,000, every contribution helps bring holiday cheer to families in our community.
I’ve attached details about sponsorship opportunities and registration. If you’re able to commit by Friday, November 8, we’ll include your company in our White Bear Press ad. Please feel free to reach out to me at (651) 407-5372 or perry@whitebearfoodshelf.org if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.

The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year
A Murderously Festive Holiday Comedy
Silver bells are ringing at this seasonal stand-up performance, but the jolly jokester gets upstaged by an event far worse than bad holiday comedy: a murder! With humbug hovering over the holiday, it is up to the unamused audience to unravel the mystery of whodunnit like last year’s tacky knitted holiday sweater. While murder is making the night not-so-merry-and-bright, you must gather information, bribe your guests for clues, and solve the crime before this comedy act becomes a tragedy!
Tickets and more information will be available soon!

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get involved and make a difference in the lives of students, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! Approximately 200 volunteers are needed to support the White Bear Lake Area High School
Test Drive…Next Stop Reality® event on Dec. 12, 2024.
Test Drive is a hands-on experience in which students get to test drive their future and see if they have what it takes to make it on their own as a 25-year-old. The simulation begins with classroom pre-work, where students select a career and then research the education needed and salary that would come from that career. With an expected salary in hand, students come to the reality fair and make important decisions at 22 different stations in categories such as housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, insurance, and food. They visit each station to talk to volunteers who share information with them about the topic and guide them through the different options based on their lifestyle and budget. To further the simulation of real life, students will also be given random family assignments.
In order for this event to be successful, we need approximately 200 volunteers to provide guidance and direction at each of these stations. Volunteers will have the ability to choose which station to be at as well as choose half or full-day shifts. No experience is required. Approximately 650 students in the junior class will be participating in this event. We hope you will consider volunteering – we couldn’t host this event without the support of our community!
