WCCA is looking for an enthusiastic, productive individual to work with our Support Services Coordinator.
Ideal candidates are passionate about serving and supporting low-income children and families and are
skilled in communicating and collaborating with a variety of staff. We are a high-quality early childhood
education and family services program that supports, guides, and mentors families through a broad spectrum
of comprehensive services.
In conjunction with classroom staff, the Behavior Intervention Support Specialist will implement individualized
behavioral plans for Head Start children to help them build skills. This position will also provide coaching and
modeling to staff to ensure that all supports are followed.
This is a 40 hour per week, year-round, Harlan, IA-based position that reports to the Support Service
Coordinator while working collaboratively with the classroom staff.

The Specialist is also responsible for answering/transferring phone calls, picking up and delivering mail to the admin office, ordering and distributing supplies for the Head Start 10-county service area.

The Executive Director shall be responsible for the overall operations of Concerned, Inc. It shall be the Executive Director’s responsibility to carry out the policies and procedures of the agency.
The Executive Director shall successfully demonstrate:

Duties and responsibilities
1. Directs the day-to-day operations of the agency as a whole and drives the development of new programs.
2. Reports to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis: responsible for the overall operations and management of Concerned, Inc., including business and financial development and management, member programs, staffing, facilities management, legal and operational problem resolution, and strategic planning and execution.
3. Ensures ongoing communication with the Board of Directors, outside of monthly meetings.
4. Collaborates with the Development Director in writing, implementing, and updating operational policies and procedures for the agency
5. Collaborates with the Development Director on the creation and implementation of the Strategic Plan
6. Develops and executes the agency Technology Plan
7. Responsible for compilation and distribution of the annual agency Outcome Measurement Report
8. Responsible for communicating technology issues to the technology provider.
9. Presides over the Administrative Team.
10. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and terminating Development Director, Community Services Director, Vocational Services Director, Human Resources Director, Finance Director, Billing Specialist, Administrative Assistant, and Receptionist.
11. Attends all board meetings and committee meetings as an ex-officio member.
12. Directs management of non-operating income including the foundation, gifts, donations, fund-raisers, and grants.
13. Directs and coordinates the external focus of Concerned, Inc. This includes:
a. Development of the image of Concerned, Inc., working cooperatively with the Development Director, other agencies, and stakeholders of the people we serve and continually analyzing the needs of the community and our agency’s response to those needs. This includes being a presence in the community.
b. Participation in membership associations and the opportunities that they offer (IACP advisory boards, Executive Director forums, Chamber of Commerce events, etc.).
c. Active engagement in following legislature as it politically impacts the service delivery of the agency. This includes communicating with legislators regarding pending bills and rule changes.
14. Implements agency investigations regarding employee misconduct.
15. Ensures that all delivered programs adhere to appropriate accreditation standards.
16. Trains and evaluates supervised staff including management of staff issues and problem resolution.
17. Ensures a qualified crisis prevention instructor is on staff.
18. Ensures accessibility to the agency for people with disabilities.
19. Attends seminars, meetings, and trainings as deemed necessary.
20. Completes necessary agency reports in a timely manner.
21. Participates on agency committees.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities
1. Assumes overall responsibility for the agency.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Requirements
1. Holds at least a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree.
2. Has 2 years’ experience in a related field.
3. Demonstrates computer application skills.
4. Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
5. Possesses vocabulary and writing skills
6. Holds a valid State of Iowa Driver’s License and is able to travel (must be willing to drive in urban areas to meet member needs, attend training, etc.).
7. Provides proof of valid vehicle insurance.
8. Submits to a state criminal record check. Employment is contingent upon a clear record.
9. Submits to dependent adult and child abuse record checks. Employment is contingent upon a clear record for both checks.
10. Submits to a state driver’s license check. Employment is contingent upon a clear record.
11. Must secure Class D Chauffer’s license upon hire.

Physical Demands
1. Lifts 40 pounds.
2. Obtains a physical examination from a licensed physician upon offer of employment.
3. Manual dexterity including, but not limited to the following: stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying.

Evaluation
The Executive Director shall be hired, supervised, and terminated by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will be evaluated at 90 days and annually thereafter by the Board of Directors.
