Every Fourth of July, Elk Avenue transforms into the heart of Crested Butte’s most beloved community tradition. What began more than a century ago as a hometown celebration has grown into a one-of-a-kind event that welcomes nearly 12,000 locals and visitors for a day filled with music, laughter, creativity, and mountain-town pride. From the quirky parade floats and cheering crowds to live music, vendor village festivities, and generations of families gathered together, the Fourth of July Parade and Block Party reflects the spirit that makes Crested Butte so special.
