July Monthly Speaker Luncheon with Major Michael Isom

Please join us for our Monthly Speaker Luncheon on July 10th from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fox Hollow Golf Club. Major Michael Isom will be our speaker.

Major Isom began his military career in Utah managing linguist support to numerous US government agencies and investigating potential threats to our national security from foreign adversaries. After receiving his BA in Chinese at BYU and commissioning through ROTC, Michael studied National Security Law at Duke and Georgetown before clerking for the US Court of Federal Claims and working in two Pentagon Offices of General Counsel.

After working on Capitol Hill, Michael served as Adjunct Faculty for five years at the US Army War College, lecturing on Congressional Engagement and advising US Agencies, as well as Congressional Committees and Offices.

Michael has directly supported seven of the Office of Director of National Intelligence component organizations, including on Middle East, Far East, cybersecurity and advanced geospatial intelligence issues.
Under the Department of Defense’s ‘Money as a Weapon System’ doctrine, in 2013 Michael deployed to Afghanistan, where he coordinated intelligence for a multi-national task force Congressionally tasked with reviewing $40 billion a year in grant and contracting activity.

In 2015, Michael was then selected to serve as the Senior Legal Adviser for a bilateral US-Saudi Arabian program towards strengthening internal security and critical infrastructure programs. During this time, he and his family lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and traveled throughout the Middle East.

Michael still serves in the National Guard, where he supports Congressional, Homeland Security and White House initiatives. He and his wife of 22 years are the parents of five children.
