The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC) Agriculture Committee will host the annual Ag Appreciation Luncheon on March 18, 2020 at the Danan Lansing Building at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds. This year’s lunch will feature Hot Beef Sundaes. Serving will begin at 11:30am. Guest speaker Aaron Putze and awards will begin at 12 p.m.
Following Putze’s presentation, The DACC will present two Friend in Agriculture awards. One area business and individual will be recognized for their ongoing efforts toward and support of local agriculture. Two Ag Scholarships will also be presented. One high school senior within Winneshiek County and one NICC Agriculture student will receive $350 toward their agriculture studies.
About the Speaker
Aaron Putze serves as Sr. Director of Information & Education for the Iowa Soybean Association. He coordinates communications, industry relations, producer services and consumer engagement activities to positively impact Iowa’s 42,000 soybean farmers and agriculture.
Aaron was raised on a crop and livestock farm near West Bend, Iowa. He holds degrees in communications, public relations and journalism from the University of Northern Iowa and earned his accreditation in public relations in 2001.
In 2018, Aaron was named Outstanding Public Relations Professional by the Central Iowa PRSA. He’s the author of two books: Destined for Greatness, the biography of Iowa Hawkeyes’ Great Chuck Long and the just-published YOU Are Destined for Greatness –Stories of Inspiration and Empowerment. He’s a member of the Waukee Rotary and Knights of Columbus.
Aaron’s a big fan of the outdoors and enjoys being an advocate for farmers and spending time with family. He and his wife Crystal and children Garrett, Grant and Jaelyn (JAY-lin) live in Waukee.
