Greater Woodland Park Chamber FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Greater Woodland Park Chamber Foundation’s Wagon Boss Scholarship award may be up to two or more scholarships.  Our goal is to ensure $5,000 for each scholarship.  It is the desire of the Scholarship Committee to award one scholarship to a senior from Woodland Park High School and one from Cripple Creek-Victor High School who best meet the following selection criteria outlined in the attached application form.  The Scholarship Committee has the final decision on awards.  The students will be judged based on the following criteria:

                        Service to Community/Activities           35 points   
                        Academic Achievement                       20 points   
                        Career Goals                                      10 points                    
                       
One payment will be made directly to the college/trade school/university where the student will attend.  Payment will be made in by the first semester and applied to tuition ONLY.  The payment will be made by July 18, 2025.   The student/students who win must provide proof of enrollment for the first semester with the correct address/department of the college/trade school/university where the payments should be sent.  The Chamber must receive the student’s ID number by June 15th.   The winner is obligated to use the scholarship the same school year they received it and or make arrangements between the College and Chamber for it to be carried to a 2nd year for tuition.  Any lapse in college/university attendance will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.  Any money that is forfeited will become property of the Chamber Foundation and will not be awarded during this scholarship period.

Program Requirements

The essay portion of the application is not optional.  Information regarding career goals must include specific information pertaining to post high school education plans.  Please fill ALL forms out completely and add attachments. An application which is deemed INCOMPLETE will NOT be considered by the selection committee. 
 
To submit an application for the Wagon Boss Scholarship -  It should include a cover letter, program requirements, nomination form, application form, verification of scholarship sheet, transcript and Three (3) reference letters (two from outside the education system).  (ALL OF THIS CAN BE UPLOADED OR FILLED IN).  It must be uploaded before or by NOON ON Friday, December 13, 2024.  Nominations received after this date will not be considered.

A Scholarship Selection Committee will screen all applications.  The committee will choose the students from each school they wish to bring in for final interviews. 
 
The Chamber will notify the winners prior to any public announcement is made.  On Friday, March 14, 2025, the individuals chosen as the Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce’s Wagon Boss Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner.  Student recipients MUST be in attendance and a meal is provided for student and two parents.  Each student will receive a ceremonial check in the amount of the award recognizing their accomplishments.
