Please complete the following application in full for consideration in the Black Business Accelerator Program (BBAP).

Please note: The selection process will include a committee review of all applications. Selected participants will receive an acceptance email.

TUITION
The Black Business Accelerator Program receives sponsorship from Henrico Economic Development, Chesterfield Economic Development, and the Virginia State University Center for Entrepreneurship, enabling us to offer a low tuition fee of $300 for the full course. Participants in the program have the choice to pay the tuition in full or opt for a two-payment plan, with the full payment due before the course's first day.

Upon the assessment and approval of applications, selected participants will be sent an email containing guidelines for submitting the course tuition. It's important to be aware that our course has limited availability. Please take note that the tuition fee is non-refundable, and a participant's spot will only be confirmed upon the successful completion of full payment. Even if you have received an acceptance notification, payment must be made before the course reaches maximum capacity in order to secure your participation.

It's important to emphasize that we are seeking applications only from dedicated and committed business owners.


DATES, TIMES, LOCATION
The program offers both virtual and in-person options. In-person classes are conducted at 6802 Paragon Place, 2nd Floor Conference Room, Richmond, VA. Virtual students will receive information during the course to join. The course consists of six sessions held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on the following dates. Applicants should ensure their availability for these dates before applying:

The culminating certificate awarding and networking session will take place Tuesday, July, 23rd 8:00AM- 9:30AM.


FALL 2024 DATES

  • September 11
  • September 25

  • November 20

The culminating certificate awarding and networking session will take place early December. Date and time: TBA

  • As a for-profit company there is a valid current business license on file from a city or county located in the Richmond MSA OR if a non-profit there are valid current and updated documents filed with the proper agencies.
  • Your business or non-profit has been in operation at least 2 years.
  • As a business owner you have a desire to increase the number of employees OR if a non-profit you have a desire to increase your staff.
  • You have a vision to grow your business.
  • To evaluate course impact, we may request data after the course. You agree to provide information periodically that may include the number or percentage of change for employee and revenue growth.
