Originally hailing from the Jersey Shore, both avid surfers, Rob and Abby drew inspiration from their global surf adventures in places like Panama, Costa Rica, and Hawaii, where they encountered the diverse and delectable world of acai and pitaya bowls. Motivated by a passion for healthy living and a creative spirit, they set up a humble pop-up stand in Belmar, NJ, with just a blender, a patio table, and a fridge. As word spread about their unique take on these nutritious bowls, the demand grew, propelling Playa Bowls to over 200 stores nationwide over the course of nine years.
