Our mission is to preserve, protect, and promote the Mountain Maidu Homeland with a united voice. The Maidu Summit Consortium envisions re-acquired ancestral lands as a vast and unique park system dedicated to the purposes of education, healing, protection, and ecosystem management based upon the Maidu cultural and philosophic perspectives, as expressed through traditional ecology.

The Legion Post was started in 1941 and currently has 66 members. Anyone that served from December 7, 1941 to the present and was Honorably Discharged can join. The post support member and their families in time of need and has ongoing support for widows of Post Members. Before the fire we provided community dinners and BINGO twice a month. Several yard-sales to benefit Indian Valley a year. supporter of Gold Doggers Day. Yearly car show, parades and ceremonial funerals for Veterans that have passed.

Our District is an unfunded Special District in Plumas County serving the Lake Almanor Basin communities by producing community events and programs, as well as capital projects focusing on recreation, parks and trails. We operate the Truman Collins Sports Complex to promote Youth Sports. We operate out an office building at 102 Meadowbrook Loop, Chester, CA 96020, located west of the Truman Collins Complex. Staffed office hours are 9 am - 2 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
