NU-HOPE Elder Care Services, Inc. (NU-HOPE) is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and caregivers and preventing/delaying institutional placement. First established in 1975, the agency currently serves as the Lead Agency for Home and Community Based Services in both Hardee and Highlands County and is the primary provider of subsidized non-medical senior services for both counties.
Senior Connection Center (SCC) assists seniors, disabled adults, and their caregivers by connecting them to the programs and services they need to maintain their independence. SCC operates the local Elder Helpline, SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Medicare Counseling Program, Health & Wellness Classes and more.
