This six week workshop is designed to help non-professional caregivers learn how to take care of themselves while caring for a parent, spouse, or friend, at home, in a nursing home, or across the country.

The first Sunday of June is National Cancer Survivors Day — a day that is celebrated around the globe. This day honors people living with a history of cancer, celebrates their milestones and recognizes those who have supported them along the way.

On this day, the Samaritan Cancer Program will host a free in-person event for cancer survivors and loved ones, in Corvallis. The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.

Dr. Dane Happeny is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist and the Clinic Operator of Healing Motion Physical Therapy’s Corvallis location. Dane has been a PT in Corvallis since 2013 and holds dual orthopedic specialist certifications — through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (OCS) and the Institute of Clinical Excellence (CERT-Ortho), as well as his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification — and brings over a decade of hands-on experience helping move his patient to excel toward fitness and their own personal goals. 
 
A proud Oregon State alum, Dane works with everyone from competitive athletes to everyday desk workers navigating the aches and pains that come with modern work life. He’s passionate about practical, evidence-based solutions that people can actually use — not just in the clinic, but in their every day life routines.  He preaches that “life’s an exercise” and “the best exercise is the one you do” and he works with each individual to best incorporate that in their lifestyle, and for their specific goals. 
 
When he’s not in the clinic, Dane is a husband, dad of four, and an active member of the Corvallis community, which is exactly why topics like workplace health, sustainable movement, and moving individuals and our community toward fitness is his bread and butter and passion to promote.
