Friday, April 26. We are excited to partner with Milk & Honey, 919 7th Street, Harlan, on this new reading adventure.
Silent reading will begin at 5:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to grab one of Milk & Honey's specialty drinks or a snack to munch on while enjoying their book. Reading will last for 45 minutes and then the last 15 minutes will be used to discuss what everyone is reading.

Monday, May 6. Myrtue Medical Center invites all families with children under 12 years of age to Fishing For Fun, 5 – 7 pm at Nishna Bend Recreation Center, 514 Maple Road, Harlan.
A meal will be provided, plus there will be prizes and books for children. Each adult planning to fish must have a valid 2024 fishing license. Public Health Learning for Life program will reimburse $22 towards the cost of the license with a limit of one per family until gone. SPARK! is cultural programming designed for people in early to mid-stages of memory loss to attend with their family or care partners. Programs feature interactive exhibit experiences in a welcoming environment with trained individuals who engage participants in lively discussions, object handling, and other multi-sensory activities. Programs are free and open to the public. These events are sponsored by the Shelby County Health Foundations and the Shelby County Community Chest.

Did you know that there are 14 scenic byways across the state of Iowa? Many of them will be featured in our upcoming new travel series, Road Trip Iowa, and we are celebrating the first season.
You’re invited to test your knowledge and celebrate this new series at an upcoming trivia night near you. Join us along the Western Skies Scenic Byway at Milk & Honey in Harlan May 10 from 6-8 p.m.
You will work together in teams of 2-4 to compete in each trivia round and Iowa-themed prizes will be awarded to the top three scorers. You’ll want to watch this new series closely to prepare for trivia night.
