Utah 2021 IRC - Residential Building & Energy Code Updates
Morning: 2021 Energy Codes with State Amendments, plus how the energy impacts all codes: Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, & Electrical. 3 hours.
The course includes discussion on 2021 Code updates, Compliance Options, Plan Review and Inspections, Insulation, Windows and Doors, Prescriptive Tables, REScheck, Performance, and ERI paths. Includes discussion on plan review and inspection, insulation products and installation, fenestration performance, required documentation, plans, ducts insulation, the typical negative impact on efficiency when HVAC systems are located within ventilated attics, and ACCA Manuals J, D, & S. Also includes hot water piping and insulation, recirculation pumps, lighting efficacy, and controls.
Afternoon: 2021 IRC Residential Code updates with common code variations. 3 hours
The course will review changes in the 2021 IRC Residential Code adopted in 2024, including state amendments. Includes discussion with photographs on new changes currently not understood or enforced and issues persistent over the years, which are often missed in plan review and in the field. ICC Preferred Provider Credits CEUs are available for this class.

This presentation will provide a practical "real world" overview of employers' compliance obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. covered topics include how to process a request for accommodation (including how to obtain medical verification), and how to handle concerns about performance, undue hardships and safety while accommodating employees. The course will also provide a practical overview of the Family & Medical Leave Act, including how to determine when employees are eligible for leave requirements, how to process leave requests, how to handle complex leave situations, and how the FMLA interacts with the ADA, PWFA and workers comp. 

**The ADA and PWFA apply to employers with 15 or more employees. The FMLA applies to employers with 50 or more employees.
