The MAC meeting has been cancelled for Tuesday, January 7th due to inclement weather.  Please stay home and do not travel unless absolutely necessary.  The KMVAC Warriors & Heroes Luncheon in Topeka is still scheduled January, 17th.

The goal of the Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber's Military Affairs Council (MAC) is to advance the pro-business climate in the area through military affairs initiatives, and to maintain and enhance the business community's relationship with Fort Leavenworth.

The Military Affairs Council works to grow and sustain not only Fort Leavenworth, but other Department of Defense operations in the area.  The MAC functions as a liaison between the local military and business communities, implementing programs which provide greater interaction between Chamber members and DOD/military personnel.  The MAC hosts various events throughout the year that help to further our community relationships and honor military service.

MAC Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

Military Affairs Council Meetings are open only to members of the Chamber of Commerce (or representatives thereof) as well as any members of military leadership.

When America entered the First World War, it did so with far too few weapons to arm the rapidly expanding American Expeditionary Force. The Army embarked on a journey to procure weapons from a variety of sources including commercial manufacturers, foreign governments, and obsolete stockpiles, all while ramping up the production of new weapons and learning hard lessons on the battlefield employment of these new tools. This presentation details the herculean effort of the men, women, companies, and governments responsible for ensuring that America's Doughboys entered combat appropriately armed for a thoroughly modern industrial war.

About the speaker:
Jonathon Krisko is currently a student at the Command and General Staff College and a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps, having previously served as an Armor officer. He is passionate about military history, and publishes historical articles in American Rifleman detailing the development, employment, and significance of military small arms. He enjoys sharing his love of history with whoever he can corner, either in casual conversation or at WWI living history events he participates in with his wife and daughter.
