The purpose of the event is to educate youth and their parents on health, safety and environmental awareness and connect everyone to resources in the community.  During this event we will distribute essential information on crime prevention, child safety, and environmental awareness issues, etc.  Sponsors will provide free child ID kits to have available for the Maricopa Police Department to conduct free identification for all children who attend.  The Fire Department’s role is to support the event by providing fire safety tips as well as a really cool truck for the kids to climb around. It is a big hit and is very informative for all ages.
In addition, due to rising rates of obesity and health issues, Southwest Pediatrics, Sun Life Health along with many more community Healthcare providers and organizations will offer free health screenings and distribute vital information on disease prevention and health promotion.  There will also be special appearances by” Smokey Bear”, “Sparky and more.
Free balloons, food, drinks, and giveaways will be provided as well as larger prize drawings every half-hour!
We would like to request your financial support and/or volunteer for this worthwhile endeavor.  We know that you value the future health and prosperity of our children as much as we do. Your contribution in money, food, drinks and/or time will help us to continue to help more Maricopa children.  In addition, we invite you to set up a booth at the event to promote your services that can benefit families. In this way, we can support each other’s professional services as we engage in a cooperative effort that benefits our entire community.
Informed and educated children transform into well educated teens that become better prepared adults and positive citizens who create a community with a vision to be healthier, safer and more environmentally sustainable. A member of my staff and I will contact you in a few days to follow-up and provide you with additional details.  We sincerely hope that you will consider some form of contribution that will enable us to make this a truly extraordinary day for all the children of our community!
