Presented by Kathryn Perry, Senior Vice President, Chief Lending Office - Park State Bank & Trust
Whether you are just starting your business or need more funding for an existing business, finding the money for your venture is one of the most tricky hurdles to overcome. There are a variety of ways you can find funding, and a variety of organizations, people, and resources available to you. What options are right for you? Where should you even start? We designed this course to be an insightful overview of the various options available to you -- including traditional bank loans, microlending, SBA loans, venture capital, angel investing, grant-funding, crowd-funding, bootstrapping, etc. This event will help you understand and learn about the options for your business.

All materials will be provided for you; you are welcome to bring your own journal if you’d prefer. Come prepared for a short hike, sitting outdoors for a short period of time (some chairs will be available), and changing weather. Ages 16+. To register, call the Visitor Center at 719-687-2366. Make a trip to the Dinosaur Resource Center for a visit with Santa and the Dinosaurs! We will have our craft table available to make an ornament for our Christmas tree as well as one for yourselves. Join us for some Christmas fun! Included with museum admission.
Come to the Visitor Center and take a break in between hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing to warm up and refuel. The nature nook will be inside the auditorium and feature rotating displays and activities that can be done at your own pace. Activities might include coloring, reading, movies, animal fur and skulls, and more.
Create seasonal ornaments with items from nature at the Visitor Center! Try to make a reindeer with a pinecone or a snowflake ornament with a wood circle from a tree. The ideas are endless. All ages are welcome.

This is the first of a three part winter series that will continue in January and February. Discover what is special about winter. Who is doing what in the forest right now? Does a snowflake make noise when it falls and what does it look like under a magnifying glass? Attend all three programs and receive a Junior Naturalist Certificate. All are welcome even if you can’t make it to the other programs in the series. Come prepared to be outside! Meet inside the Visitor Center.
Get outside and move with this post holiday hike. This is about a two mile, moderate hike past meadows, forests, and Peak View Pond. Some adult snowshoes will be available at the trailhead if needed. Meet at Elk Meadow trailhead.
Enjoy a short hike involving snowshoes and learn how some animals can "float” across the snow. If there is time, visitors can design a floating animal or play a food resource game on snowshoes. Extra adult snowshoes will be available if needed. Meet at Wapiti trailhead.
How do animals and plants adapt for winter? Come learn during this program and then create a plant/animal based on what you learned. At the Visitor Center auditorium.
