Enhance your fly fishing knowledge in this fly fishing plus class which will include a three hour classroom portion. Go more in depth on techniques and equipment. This class is best for those who have some experience fly fishing or have attended a Mueller fly fishing basics class. It is suggested that you bring your own rod to continue to hone your skills on the equipment you will use outside of the class. You must pre register for this class by calling the Visitor Center at 719-687-2366 or online. 15 spots available.

Join your passion for art and the outdoors on a 3-mile moderate loop by Lost Pond. We will stop to sketch some of the park’s natural beauty guided by local artist Cyndi Deswik. No experience needed, just your zest for learning! We may be lucky enough to see the elusive Calypso orchids along the trail. Art supplies are provided, but you may bring your own if you desire.

Whether you’re new or a pro to the sport, archery at Mueller is a great time to test your skills. All supplies are provided, simply come with your listening ears and a good attitude. Nature is nurturing for our bodies and minds. In this workshop you will discover the history, science and art of observing nature and recording observations. Journaling helps us reflect and expand our perspectives of the natural world around us and our place within it. All materials will be provided for you. You are welcome to bring your own journal if you’d prefer. Come prepared for a short hike, sitting outdoors for a short period of time (some chairs will be available), and changing weather. Ages 16+. The show will include vendors selling polished gems, hand-crafted jewelry, rough slabs, specimens, cabochons, geodes, turquoise, and more. There will also be gold and gem panning at the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum. Show hours are from 9 to 5 Friday and Saturday and 9-4 on Sunday.
Saturday night, June 21, the City of Victor will sponsor free live music on the Pinnacle Park Plaza stage.
In addition, the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum gift shop will be open with its collection of rocks, gems, minerals, rhodochrosite and aquamarine jewelry, geodes and gold panning for kids of all ages. The Woodland Park community is invited to celebrate the grand reopening of its newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 9 a.m. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the President of the Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, a mural unveiling, associate recognition and the presentation of $8,000 in community grants. Guests can also enjoy vendor demos and product samples throughout the morning.
Walmart’s remodel in Woodland Park is part of a broader investment across Colorado, with 25 stores undergoing updates in 2025 to enhance customer convenience and modernize the shopping experience.

- New Front-End Layout & Registers: Streamlined design and updated equipment for faster, more efficient checkout.
- Relocated & Expanded Online Pickup Area: This has been moved to the front of the store with added parking spots for increased convenience.

- Mother’s Room: A dedicated space for families with young children.
- Community Mural: A custom mural showcasing local spirit will be unveiled during the event.
During the event, Walmart will present grants to several local organizations, including:
- Woodland Park Senior Organization – $1,000
- Teller Trail Team – $1,000
- UCHealth Memorial Health System Foundation – $3,000
- Teller County Police Activities – $3,000.
This is an annual Mueller event for the community to come and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including: archery, target shooting, geocaching, dutch oven cooking and more.
Activities Throughout the Park
Since 1916 when Colorado Springs businessman, Spencer Penrose, created the Pikes Peak National Hill Climbing Contest, competitors have been invited to bring their best to challenge the mountain. The second oldest race in America has become the most iconic hill climb in the world. Experience a one-of-a-kind motorsports event with a stunning backdrop, Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain.
Competitors, fans, and media from around the globe travel to Colorado Springs to catch the action.
Drivers from 13 countries, competing in six divisions, will vie for the top honor, King of the Mountain.
The current course record, 07:57.148, was set in 2018 by Romain Dumas in an all-electric Volkswagen I.D. R.

Today is all about fishing. Join CPW and Trout Unlimited volunteers for fishing at Dragonfly Pond. No teaching will be done, this is simply a time for people to get together, swap tips and enjoy the sport. Bring lunch and chat before the TU seminar at 12:30 (info below). *A fishing license is required to fish at the park for ages 16+.
