Please join us for our annual SBA New Mexico Small Business Awards Breakfast as we honor the SBA New Mexico Small Business Award winners on Wednesday, May 1, at the Crown Plaza Albuquerque during National Small Business Week 2024!
Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has declared National Small Business Week to formally recognize America's small businesses' important role and contributions. National and local events recognize top entrepreneurs' achievements, including individuals and organizations who champion small businesses. Special recognition is also given to SBA resource partners, lenders, and community organizations for their outstanding business and entrepreneurial development efforts.

The last NMPhil Coffee Concert of 2023/24 is sure to leave you excited for next season! Premiered in 1803 in Vienna and conducted by the composer himself, Beethoven’s second foray into the world of big, public symphonies combines his unique artistry with his humor, stated through various musical jokes in the Scherzo and Finale. This is one of the last works of Beethoven’s early period. The program—led by Na’Zir McFadden—also includes Anthony Ratinov performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 to lighten your early spring morning.

In recent years, a fear called radiophobia has emerged, causing heightened anxiety around ionizing radiation. Misconceptions about radiation physics and radiobiology have led to a sense of fear among some. Join Dr. Hartshorne as he discusses how this fear has impeded the progress of beneficial technologies such as nuclear power for addressing climate change, nuclear medicine for saving lives, and advancements in nuclear safety. Despite these challenges, is there hope for a more informed and balanced perspective on the benefits and risks associated with radiation-related technologies?

As we draw the 2023/24 season to a close, we are delighted to welcome Italian violinist Anna Tifu to the Popejoy Hall stage in a fiery interpretation of Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. Opening the show is the bombastic Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila followed by more music by Khachaturian, his Spartacus Suite No. 2. Ending the night is Respighi’s colorful and evocative Pines of Rome. Music Director Roberto Minczuk conducts.
