Walgreens recently announced the August closure of its Edwardsville e-commerce distribution center, resulting in the elimination of approximately 400 jobs. To assist employees in securing new employment, Walgreens is hosting two opportunities for local businesses to hire individuals with skills including general warehouse workers, maintenance, IT, asset protection, human resources, operations management and administrative duties.Monday, August 14, 2023

The Madison County Historical Society will host a Trivia Night at St. Gregory Armenian Community Center in Granite City. Located at 3501 Century Drive, the hall is a wonderful facility and very easy to locate, just off of Route 3.Reservations are now open for tables with a maximum of 8 players. The cost is $25 per person and mulligans are available on site. There are cash prizes plus the usual trivia night games, silent auction, and attendance prizes. The doors open at 6 and the game begins at 7 p.m. Walk-in teams are welcome. This event is a fundraiser for the Madison County Historical Society, a 501(c)3 not for profit organization that owns the Madison County History Museum and Archival Library in Edwardsville.
