Bike & Hike is returning for 2024, but we're serving it up in a different way this year! Instead of one event, we're hosting three opportunities to connect with us, grab some fun, free stuff and learn about all of the ways everyone can hike and bike safely and easily in the community. The City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will be back at the Land of Goshen Community Market in Edwardsville on three Saturdays -- May 18, June 8 and August 17 -- featuring a different theme at each one. Visit us at our table to learn about our mission, pick up fun stuff, maps and more.
We loved hosting last year's pancake breakfast and appreciate everyone who attended, but we're switching gears this year! Our hope for Bike & Hike is that it becomes not just an event, but a way of life, goal and opportunity in our community. To accomplish that, we're spreading out the fun over three dates, rather than one!
To encourage participation, a series of group rides and walks that will end at the market are being planned using the vast network of Madison County Transit and City trails. See event information for each date (below) to check out the list of organized rides and walks. Participants also are encouraged to organize their own ride or walk to the market. We're even providing portable bike racks for each event to make it easy to arrive on two wheels.
Additional information about the events will be posted here as it becomes available, so check back often! If you need more information or want to lend a hand, please email: communications@cityofedwardsville.com
