The Chili Plunge is back!
We’ll be plunging into Urbanna Creek from the Urbanna Town Marina.
Plunge individually or be part of a team. Everyone is encouraged to secure pledges from friends and family, proceeds from this event will go to our local charities.
Remember, wear a costume, prizes will be given for the most creative.
After the plunge, each participant can head up to the Chili Cook off for a free bowl of chili to warm you back up.

Chili Cook-Off
The Urbanna Chili Plunge and Cook-Off is FREE to everyone!
All chili chefs are invited to enter the Chili Cook-Off contest.
There will be 2 divisions, Amateur and Professional.

Come and be sew-cial and meet other quilters and sewers in the community. 
Community Sew-cials are held at Irvington Baptist Church parish hall. Hours are 10:00 am-4:00 pm and you can stay for all or part of the time. The church will provide tables, chairs, and electricity. Bring all the supplies you need for the day as well as lunch, beverages, and snacks. Or, head across the street to The Local or The Office Bistro and grab something to eat and drink.
Proceeds from your reservation fee of $10 will be donated to the church for the use of their facilities.

Need sewing supplies? Stop by Sewlovelee (4504 Irvington Road), right down the road from the church.

Please bring your own sewing supplies including machine, cutting mat, rotary cutter, iron and ironing surface.

History, mystery and fun! Join the Friends of Belle Isle State Park for an afternoon of great stories, community and refreshments as we continue the Virginia Writers Series:

Join us February 15 for an artistic sharing. Local writer and artist Larry D. Giles in "A Courtship of Rivers" will present his first book Father Tree Water and excerpts from other works in process.

Join one of America’s leading Lincoln scholars for this special presentation. The John K. Boardman, Jr. Professor of Politics and Head of the Politics Department at Washington and Lee University, Dr. Morel will show how the most important influence on Lincoln’s thought and practice was what Lincoln learned from the leading figures and documents from the birth of the United States. Morel argues that to know Lincoln well is to understand thoroughly the founding of America.
