Come enjoy an evening of performance as ELC HS Chorus in collaboration with ELC Patrons of the Fine arts hosts the Des Moines Metro Opera. For this community performance, the troupe will be presenting a selection of opera and aria repertoire. 

The 2026 OPERA Iowa troupe is comprised of seven professional artists, including four singers, one music director and two technicians. The singers are selected from nationwide auditions held in New York City, Houston, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Des Moines. From over 1,000 applications, these artists were selected to join the OPERA Iowa Educational Touring Troupe and then return for Des Moines Metro Opera’s Frank R. Brownell III Apprentice Artist Program this summer.

The members of the 2026 OPERA Iowa troupe are: soprano Emily Finke of Hudson Valley, NY; tenor Spencer Greene of Chicago, IL; mezzo-soprano Anya Newsome Hill of Geneva, IL; and baritone William Raskin of Madison, WI. The music director and pianist is Alissa Cox of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; the technicians are Cameron Driggers of Hoboken, GA and Cole Bozung of Greenville, MI. Matthew J. Schulz from Waverly, IA provided stage direction for The Billy Goats Gruff and Cinderella.

This is a monthly gathering of Car enthusiasts from Estherville and all over Northwest Iowa on the Library Square in Estherville at 5-8 PM.  This event is being held on the 1st Friday of each month (June-August).  We will have a Taco Truck, Musician, Free Popcorn and Great Cars.  Come and join us.

This is an event where the Black Knights Car Club will gather at 1:00 PM in Spurgin Park and then Cruise in their beautiful cars up to the North and will stop at each Elderly Housing Development in Estherville and spend 15-20 minutes at each facility to allow the residents time to come out and see and walk around (if able) the cars and speak with the owners.  After all stops have been completed, the Cruise will proceed north and around the business district and back to Spurgin Park where there will be a Potluck Picnic and the cars will be displayed for the public to view as well.

This event is a Monthly Gathering on the 1st Friday of each month  (June-August) of Car enthusiasts who have a variety of different collector cars.  We meet on Library Square in Estherville Iowa from 5-8 PM.  We will have a Taco Truck, a Musician, Free Popcorn and Great Cars.  Come and join us.

This will be the 20th year that the Black Knights Car Club has held a fantastic Car Show in conjunction with the Annual Sweet Corn Days Celebration in Estherville Iowa.  There will be all types of cars and trucks displayed (no motorcycles) and trophies awarded as well by a vote of the public who attends this event.  It is a great fellowship of the public and the car owners who are displaying their beautiful cars.  Registration is from 9 AM- 12 Noon with a $15 fee to enter your car.  Judging will be at 12 Noon and Awards will be at 3:00 PM.  Come to enjoy the full day of fun at the Sweet Corn Days, The Parade (at 10:00 AM) and then enjoy our cars.

This is a Spectacular Car Show-- Lots of Cars and Lots of trophies.  Located at the Preservation Plaza (Green Space) in Historic Arnolds Park located at 37 Lake Street in Arnolds, Park IA.  Registration is from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon with Judging at 12:00 Noon.  This is a professionally Judged Event.  Awards will be presented at 3:00 PM.  $20  fee to display your car.  Lots of Trophies, lots of Classes.  If you have a car we have a class for you.  Come stroll the Car Show and the Scenic Historic Arnolds Park as well.

This is the 18th year of a tradition that builds each year.  It has the thrills of side by side racing down a 350 foot track along with the ability for Spectators to come and watch their favorites or just enjoy the day.  Make it a Family Event.  Gates Open at 9:00 AM and Races Run from
11 AM - 3 PM.  $5 per pass or $30 for the full day. $5 for spectators.  All Cars will be Inspected and must be registered, licensed and have proof of insurance.  DOT Tires only and no class for Motor Cycles.  Make a day of it.  There will be food available on the grounds.  Remember safety is our biggest priority.
