The primary purposes of the corporation are to promote the maintenance, development, establishment and expansion of agriculture, commerce, industry and housing in the Greenfield, Adair County, Iowa area, in order to relieve conditions of poverty, dependency, high unemployment and under-employment in an economically depressed community.

The Adair County Supervisors serve as the policymakers for the county and administer the various county programs. Their powers include reviewing budget requests, appropriating funds, establishing county tax levies, enacting ordinances, filling employee vacancies, and hearing reports from county officers. The Board is also responsible for overseeing economic development in the county. The Boards of Supervisors’ responsibilities are defined by Iowa Code chapter 331. In 2001 the Adair County Board of Supervisors went to a 5 member board.

Reservations are required and due by Noon on the Tuesday before the meeting if you would like to have a meal. You are always welcome to attend the meeting whether you eat with us or not. You are also welcome to bring in your own lunch.
The Luncheon costs $12 per person and includes a meal by one of our supporting businesses, attendee introductions, Chamber Main Street & Development business and committee updates, and time for business and community concerns and announcements.

Festival of Lights - Lighted Parade 

Join us for a magical evening of holiday cheer at Greenfield’s Festival of Lights - Lighted Parade! This year’s theme is “Joy in our Journey”. It is a heartfelt tribute to our community’s resilience after the devastating tornado came through our town in May this year. Though life has changed, this event is a celebration of how far we’ve come and the joy we can still find in each step moving forward together!

After the parade, don't miss a special visit from Santa Claus at Long's Gazebo!
