Given the length of time the United States spent in Iraq, there is a perception that there was no consideration before the war of what should be done after coalition forces arrived in Baghdad and removed Saddam Hussein. However as this unofficial history reveals, there was a great deal of planning to address how to achieve the policy objectives for Iraq set by the Bush administration. COL Kevin Benson (RET)—director of plans for the United States Third Army, the ground forces command headquarters for GEN Franks’ Central Command, at the start of the war—details the development of the invasion plan and its subsequent execution from D-Day in March 2003 until the change of command of operations in Iraq and the departure of Third Army in June 2003.

There is nothing quite so disappointing as watching a cherished houseplant slowly dying and not knowing why. If you can relate to such an experience, please bring your questions and join Master Gardener, Cara Kruid in an informal discussion as she shares some practical advice, suggestions and a lot of encouragement on learning how to choose the right plant for your home environment.
Topics include how to care for your chosen plants and how to be successful in overwintering (transitioning your plants from inside to outside and then from outside to inside for year-round success). Whether you are one of life’s plant refugees’ or are able to grow a wide range of houseplants with success, come share your stories and maybe let Cara give you the incentive to try something new!
