Maricopa is growing rapidly—but for many teens, that growth feels out of reach.
According to the Arizona Youth Survey:
- Over 50% of local teens report feeling disconnected from their neighborhoods
- Nearly 46% say they’ve been rewarded for antisocial behavior
- 57.1% see little to no risk in drug use
At Be Awesome, we’re responding with purpose. Our “Make a Splash, Change the Current” campaign is designed to connect youth to their community, build life-ready skills, and prepare them for the workforce of tomorrow.
Here’s what we’re doing with the funds raised:
- Paid teen internship opportunities focused on leadership, small business training, and event management
- Workshops on career readiness, communication, wellness, and responsibility
- Hands-on entrepreneurial experiences (planning community events, presenting at city meetings, and managing youth-led projects)
- A weekend retreat to build resiliency, confidence, and collaboration
We’ve already served over 300 students and families this year—and with your help, we can scale even further.
We’ve raised $5,100 toward our $25,000 goal. Help us keep momentum going.
