Taps & Tunes 2025, presented by BCI Mechanical and Building Controls Integration Inc., returns on Saturday, October 18 inside the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. Hosted by the Friends of the OMA, this 21+ event is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds supporting the remodel of the exhibition hall kitchen into a community commercial kitchen.
This year’s event expands beyond beer with tastings from Kansas breweries, wineries, and distilleries, plus a variety of food. Headlining the night is Paramount, a high-energy 80s rock tribute band known for epic covers of Journey, Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Poison, and more. “A History of The American Indian Boarding Schools” is part of Humanities Kansas's Speakers Bureau and “21st Century Civics,” a collection of resources that invite Kansans to participate in community discussions and learn more about the history of American democracy and the shared responsibilities of citizenship. “21st Century Civics” is made possible with support from “A More Perfect Union: America at 250,” an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Ottawa Memorial Auditorium and the Franklin County Historical Society host a one-night paranormal investigation of the OMA. Join us Friday, October 24th at 7:30pm for an evening of history, guided investigations of public and backstage spaces and 30 minutes of free-range investigation. We’ll conclude the evening with a group gathering to discuss our findings.
The paranormal investigation is recommended for ages 14 and up.
Please note that while the auditorium itself is ADA accessible, the backstage areas are not. Contact OMA for questions about accessibility.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit both the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium and the Franklin County Historical Society.

Seth Angel is a graduate of the University of Akron. He is a life-long student of history and a recipient of Tuscarawas County, Ohio’s Zeisberger – Heckewelder Award. He is on the board of directors for the Tuscarawas County Historical Society and a member of the Eastern District Executive Board of the Moravian Church. His passion is history of the region, especially the people and events surrounding early Moravian Missions in Pennsylvania, Ohio and beyond.
