Chamber Lunch Forum: Surviving as a farmer: The Story of a Livestock Gate Latch, A Farm Stay, and A Farmoir
11/14/2018
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Event Description
Most 50-year-olds in America are focused on contributing to their 401(k)s and setting themselves up for a happy retirement.

And then there's Scottie Jones. She decided to become a farmer.

Before buying a sixty acre farm in Alsea, Oregon, Jones and her husband had been professionals in Phoenix, Arizona for over twenty years. They moved to Oregon right before her 50th birthday. At the time she says they thought, “How hard could it be to be farmers?”

Scottie has been featured on Forbes, Urban Farmer and even wrote her own book, Country Grit: A Farmoir of Finding Purpose and Love.

Join us and meet the woman who popularized farm stays in America.
There will be opportunity for Q & A.
