2018 Complete Streets Project
Grand Re-opening of State Highway 28 Parade Friday, October 5, 2018
Theme: Community Pride!
The festivities will include a reception with beverages and cookies, guest speakers and honored guests, ribbon cutting and community photo, and end with the parade down Minnesota Avenue.
Parade Rules:
Staging will take place on 4th Street SE, 3rd Street SE, and the gravel parking lot near Health & Human Services and Caseys. Committee members will send out instructions ahead of time plus be on hand to direct people to the proper staging areas the day of the event.
Units will be placed in the lineup at the discretion of the committee members.
Parade begins on 4th Street East and proceeds on Minnesota Avenue to 4th Street West past the fairgrounds.
All parade participants should dress according to the weather.
Units can walk, pedal or be motorized.
Candy and promotional items MAY be thrown or handed out at the parade.
NO brochures or literature may be handed out along the sides of the Minnesota Avenue during the parade!
Any animals in the parade must have a “clean-up crew”.
Cancelations due to severe weather will be announced by 9:00 a.m. on parade day.
