1:30–2:30 PMIf you have been looking for a meaningful way to serve military families in our community, this is your moment.
At Stronghold, we believe in serving with dignity, excellence, and compassion — and that starts with equipping our volunteers well!
All individuals wishing to volunteer their time, talents, and skills must attend a Volunteer Onboarding session and complete a volunteer onboarding packet. *This includes youth volunteers.
Please note: Volunteer onboarding is offered on a quarterly schedule. The next session will not take place until May 17, 2026 | 1:30–2:30 PM.We don’t just fill volunteer spots — we build a team. A team that stands in the gap for military families navigating food insecurity and life transitions.
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get involved…this is it!
We can’t wait to welcome you.
Stronger together.
The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive, and we encourage everyone who is able, to participate. Every blood donation has the power to save lives, making your contribution an incredibly meaningful gift to those in need. Whether it’s a patient undergoing surgery, a cancer treatment, or an emergency — your donation makes a real and lasting difference for individuals and families in our community and beyond. Rolling up your sleeve takes just a little of your time, but for someone else, it could mean everything.
Please consider donating — your generosity saves lives!
Those who come to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma May 18th will get an oversized Red Cross beach towel, while supplies last.
Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: Basehor to schedule an appointment.
Each week, we’ll mix it up with a variety of activities - whether it’s board games, quiz shows, video games, crafts, or food nights! It’s all about having fun, trying new things, and connecting with friends in a relaxed and creative space. This program is for ages 9-12.

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of our United States, this edition of the Distinguished Speaker Series features a presentation on civic duty by Jason J. Galui, director of the Endicott Center for Civic Participation. On Sept. 17, 1787, delegates in Philadelphia signed an ambitious document creating the framework for realizing the self-evident truths stated in the Declaration of Independence. For more than 238 years, the Constitution of the United States has been vigorously supported, challenged, and defended by generations of Americans. If “We the People” are committed to securing the “blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity,” then each of us has essential duties and obligations to perform – as individuals and as a collective – in order to form a more perfect union.
NOTE: Guests without military ID or CAC card must also pre-register to access Fort Leavenworth using the Visitor Registration Portal no more than 10 days and no less than 24 hours before the event - https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection.

Women Veterans Engage at VFW Post 56
If you’re a woman veteran or currently serving, this event was created with you in mind.
Women Veterans Engage is a one-day personal and professional development conference designed to bring women who have served together for meaningful connection, practical growth, and renewed purpose. This isn’t just about networking, it’s about community. It’s about being seen, heard, and supported by women who understand your journey. Together, we’ll also look at how we can continue serving; not just in uniform, but in our families, workplaces, and communities.
