Join us for Ignite Kirkland 2026!

June 1-8, 2026

Ignite Kirkland is Kirkland Community Foundation's community-powered giving campaign, and this year, it's bigger than ever! The 2026 campaign runs June 1-8, inviting everyone who lives, works, or plays in our city to browse an online catalog of local nonprofit projects and give directly to the causes they care about. From youth programs and arts initiatives to park improvements and mental health services, every project is rooted right here in Kirkland. Thanks to our generous partners, including returning lead sponsor Amazon, as well as Columbia Bank, Puget Sound Energy, and others, “boost funds” mean every dollar goes further, and 100% of public donations go directly to the projects you choose. Neighbors helping neighbors + philanthropy that starts and stays close to home. That’s Ignite Kirkland. Join us!

Artist statement:

Painting with art glass is an amazingly creative process that offers me the opportunity to design a painting that can then be displayed in multiple ways and even shapes. Glass fused paintings can take advantage of light in a way that painting on a canvas does not. I quite often create translucent paintings that are to be displayed in/on a stand by layering sheets of specialty glass together underneath the painted layers. This technique I use allows the fused glass landscapes to convey a sense of how the ever-changing light from the skies above throughout the course of a day influences what we see when we experience a scenic vista out in nature.

Exhibit language:

Scandia Wood-Blackwell is a longtime local WA State glass artist creating landscape paintings by layering varying forms of compatible art glass and kiln-forming techniques to complete her art pieces. The Kirkland Arts Center (main gallery) exhibit is Scandia’s first formal exhibit and she has created numerous new paintings for this event. Artwork displayed will include a wide-range of sizes and prices from framed wall art to standing paintings created for front and backlit viewing.

Gallery Hours:

Tuseday through Friday, 11-4pm

Saturday 11-3pm

Sunday, Monday CLOSED

Old-World tradition and New-World expression.

Côté Nicault and Long Shadows Wine Dinner with Winemaker Gilles Nicault

Friday, June 12th | 5:30 - 9:30 pm | $215++/Person, Includes a Five-Course Dinner with Wine Pairings | Reservations Required

We invite you to an intimate Côté Nicault and Long Shadows Dinner featuring Gilles Nicault, a night centered on collaboration, precision, and the meeting of Old-World tradition and New-World expression.

Born in the Rhône Valley and classically trained in France, Gilles Nicault has spent more than three decades in Washington State shaping wines that bridge two worlds with clarity and intention. As winemaker for Long Shadows Vintners and creator of Côté Nicault, his work reflects both heritage and evolution, expressed through two distinct but connected portfolios.

For this evening, a multi-course dinner from Executive Chef Maximillian Petty will be presented in harmony with each wine, designed to highlight structure, nuance, and progression throughout the experience.

Guests will move through a curated selection of Côté Nicault and Long Shadows wines, each introduced by Gilles, offering insight into vintage expression, vineyard decisions, and the philosophy behind each blend.
This is a limited seating experience for those who value wine as craft, shaped by time, intention, and a guiding hand. We look forward to welcoming you.

Walla Walla meets Woodinville.

Abeja Wine Dinner with Winemakers Daniel Wampfler and Amy Alvarez-Wampfler

There is a quiet rhythm to Walla Walla, where vineyard rows and farmstead fields move with the turning seasons. On the last evening of spring, just before summer arrives, that rhythm settles into something still and expectant. This year marks 25 years of Abeja Winery and the first-ever summer season at The SOMM.

A collaborative evening unfolds as an intimate Abeja Winery Dinner at The SOMM with winemakers Daniel Wampfler and Amy Alvarez-Wampfler. Wines from estate vineyards across the Walla Walla Valley and Columbia Valley will be artfully paired with a five-course dinner from The SOMM’s Executive Chef Maximillian Petty, James Beard-nominated.

Abeja began as a restored farmstead, with vineyards and gardens surrounding a working winery, Inn and restaurant, all part of a single living estate. That same sense of harmony carries through the evening, where each pairing reflects restraint, clarity, and place, marking both a season’s turn and a shared sense of arrival. This is a landmark celebration of Abeja’s 25th year and The SOMM’s first summer, where legacy and beginning share the same table.

As part of the City’s Conversations with Council program, Councilmembers host casual monthly meetups at locations across Kirkland to encourage open dialogue with community members. There’s no formal agenda or presentations—just an opportunity to B.Y.O.T. (Bring Your Own Topic)™, ask questions, share ideas, or simply stop by to say hello and show off your market haul. Look for the Conversations with Council sign while strolling the market.

Guidelines: In our swim meetups, inclusivity and respect are paramount. We operate under a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or hate speech based on gender identity, sexual orientation, race, or any other discrimination against your human beings. We ask all participants to respect each other’s pronouns and to contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere. Privacy and personal boundaries are to be respected at all times.
All-ages welcome – attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Kids may be asked to take a swim test (especially if under 14 or needing additional support)
No personal photography will be allowed to maintain a safe environment for everyone’s comfort, unless explicitly notified by event hosts with permission from everyone in the shot. We know that folks may still want a memento to remember their joy, so we’re planning live illustration for each swim meet. We will have paid trans and nonbinary live sketch artists from our community, who are there to enjoy the vibe and capture the magic.
We encourage community engagement and invite everyone to stay informed about our events, announcements, and community news by signing up for our newsletter on our website or following us on social media @prideacrossthebridge.
