THE MANY FACES OF STRESS: STAYING CONNECTED IN CHALLENGING TIMES
for parents of children ages birth to 3rd grade
Speaker: Erin Walsh, Spark & Stitch Institute
It is no surprise that children, teens, and parents alike have experienced accelerating levels of stress in the past three years. As we move from “emergency mode” into longer-term coping, it is important to remember what stress looks like in kids and adults and explore ways to respond that will help us get through challenging times together. This workshop delivers warmth, brain science, and humor to strengthen our toolkit for communication and connection during challenging times.
This workshop will explore:
- The brain science of stress and resilience
- How to differentiate between “typical stress” and signs that we may need additional mental health support
- What children need from adults during times of stress and strain (and what adults can do for themselves)
Join Centennial Early Childhood and speaker Erin Walsh for a fun evening of learning and discussion!
